Christmas tree ornaments are made of a vast variety of materials such as glass, metal, wood, wax, all manner of food, fabrics such as silk, wool or cotton, nut shells, lace, cookies, plastics, Styrofoam, feathers, candy canes, ceramics, dried plants, sheafs of grain, and of course paper. They can be manufactured or homemade in any shape or size. Poplar shapes include the ball, angel, reindeer, sleds, Christmas trees, nativity figures, gingerbread men, snowmen, birds, musical instruments, stars, heart shaped, snow flakes, animals or anything else. Actually any small colorful object can be used, just attach a string with which to hang it and you are set to go. Traditional colors include the usual red and green, and the metallic colors of gold and silver.
